Course Description:
In this course, you will learn about the first part of the central dogma of molecular biology: transcription.
In this course, you will discover the untold world of RNA synthesis. You will understand how the transcription really begins, what cofactors are, how the RNA gets edited, and so forth. But make no mistake: this information brings a huge amount of unknown with it. Even though you will learn more, you will be asking more as well. Besides these, I will be teaching you experiments like EMSA and ChIP Seq that scientists use to detect all these steps. In addition to this, you will learn about CRISPR.
This is a 5-week course, one 1-hour class per week. There will be regular, short assignments after each class (sometimes before class as well) and one main assignment.
